On 30 July 2019, Moldovan President Igor Dodon announced that a new social security agreement with Russia is expected to be signed in September 2019. The agreement must be finalized, signed, and ratified before entering into force and, once in force and effective, will replace the 1995 social security agreement between the two countries.
