Officials from Brazil and the Czech Republic reportedly met 22 to 25 October 2018 for the first round of negotiations for a new income tax treaty. Any resulting treaty must be finalized, signed, and ratified before entering into force and, once in force and effective, would replace the 1986 tax treaty between Brazil and the former Czechoslovakia, which continues to apply in respect of Brazil and the Czech Republic.
