Italy's Ministry of Economy and Finance has issued a release announcing the signing of a new income tax treaty with China on 23 March 2019. According to the release, the treaty provides for the following withholding tax rates:
- Dividends - 5% if the beneficial owner is a company that has held at least 25% of the paying company's capital for at least 365 days; otherwise, 10%
