According to a 5 March 2019 update from UK HMRC, the new income and capital tax treaty with Lesotho entered into force on 18 September 2018. The treaty, signed 3 November 2016, replaces the 1997 treaty between the two countries.

The treaty covers Lesotho taxes imposed under the Income Tax Act, 1993 (Act No. 9 of 1993), and covers UK income tax, corporation tax, and capital gains tax.
