New Zealand to Consider Introduction of Special Economic Zones with Tax Incentives

According to a release from New Zealand's Regional Development Minister Shane Jones, a proposal will be presented to the Cabinet for the introduction of special economic zones (SEZs) to attract investment and further development. The SEZs would provide attractive regulatory regimes and tax treatment, which would reportedly include increased depreciation and initial tax exemption holidays. Further details of the proposal will be published once available.
