According to a recent announcement by the Norwegian authorities, Norway has terminated the 1956 inheritance tax treaty with Switzerland and the 1949 estate and inheritance tax treaty with the United States The treaties were terminated via the exchange of notes on 6 June 2014, and both will cease to have effect 1 January 2015.
