On 17 January 2019, the Sultan of Oman issued the royal decree for the ratification of the pending income tax treaty with Sri Lanka. The treaty, signed 15 August 2018 ({News-2019-01-09/T/4-previous coverage}), is the first of its kind between the two countries will enter into force once the ratification instruments are exchanged and apply from 1 January of the year following its entry into force.
