Oman's Shura Council reportedly approved the draft law for the implementation of a VAT regime on 21 July 2020. It is expected that the draft law will be reviewed and approved by the State Council in the near future, after which the final steps for the issuance of a Royal Decree to enact the VAT law may be completed. Implementation of the VAT regime is expected in early 2021.
