Oman to Delay VAT Implementation to 2021

According to recent reports, Oman may delay the implementation of VAT to January 2021. As per an agreement among the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states, Oman is committed to introducing a VAT regime with a standard rate of 5%. Although it was originally intended that the six GCC states implement VAT from 2018, only Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates have implemented their VAT regimes to date.
