The Peruvian Congress has reportedly approved a temporary reduction in the VAT rate from 18% to 8% for the tourism and hospitality sectors, including for qualifying hotels and other tourist accommodation, restaurants and cafes, and catering services. The reduced rate will apply from the date the law approving the reduction is published until 31 December 2024. Further details on the implementation of the reduced rate will be published once available.
