On 30 December 2020, Peruvian President Francisco Sagasti signed the decree for the ratification of the pending income tax treaty with Japan. The treaty, signed 18 November 2019, is the first of its kind between the two countries. It will enter into force 30 days after the ratification instruments are exchanged and will generally apply from 1 January of the year following its entry into force.
