Poland Clarifies VAT Reduction for Basic Foods Products and Other Aspects of Anti-Inflation Shield 2.0

The Polish Ministry of Finance has issued a release on the "Anti-Inflation Shield 2.0" package, noting that the package has been adopted by the Sejm. As previously reported, the measures of the second package include the following from 1 February to 31 July 2022:

• The VAT rate on fuel is reduced from 23% to 8%;
• A VAT zero rate is provided for:
  • basic foods products
  • gas (natural gas); and
  • fertilizer for agricultural production;
