Poland Delays Mandatory VAT Split Payment to 2020

Poland has reportedly decided to delay the introduction of its VAT split payment system on a mandatory basis to January 2020. The system, which has been available on a voluntary basis from July 2018, is meant to reduce VAT fraud by splitting B2B payments so that the VAT due on an invoice at the time of payment is directly deposited into a restricted VAT account supervised by the tax authority and the net amount is deposited in the supplier's normal bank account.
