Poland Extending VAT and Other Relief Under the Anti-Inflation Shield Until End of 2022

Poland's Ministry of Finance has announced that the Council of Ministers has decided to extend the reduced VAT rates introduced as part of the Anti-Inflation Shield. Previously scheduled to expire on 31 October 2022, the following are extended to 31 December 2022:

• The VAT zero rate for:
  • basic foods products
  • natural gas; and
  • fertilizer for agricultural production;
• The 5% VAT rate for electricity and heating (thermal energy); and
• The 8% VAT rate on fuels.
