Poland's Ministry of Finance has launched a public consultation on a draft bill to implement its VAT split payment system on a mandatory basis with effect from 1 September 2019. The system, which has been available on a voluntary basis from July 2018, is meant to reduce VAT fraud by splitting B2B payments so that the VAT due on an invoice at the time of payment is directly deposited into a restricted VAT account and the net amount is deposited in the supplier's normal bank account.
