On 21 July 2023, Portugal's Council of Ministers approved the Community of Portuguese Language Countries (CPLP) Multilateral Agreement on Social Security, which was signed in 2015. The agreement has also been signed by Brazil, Cape Verde, Mozambique, Sao Tome and Principe, and Timor-Leste.
