On 22 July 2016, Portugal published the decree ratifying the pending income tax treaty with Vietnam ({News-2016-06-02/T/6- previous coverage}). The treaty, signed 3 June 2016, is the first of its kind between the two countries. It will enter into force 30 days after the ratification instruments are exchanged, and will apply from 1 January of the year following its entry into force.
