Protocol between Japan and India signed

On 24 February 2006, Japan and India signed a protocol amending their income tax treaty of 7 March 1989. The two countries reached an agreement:

-  

to reduce the withholding tax rates on dividends, interest, royalties and fees for technical services to 10%; and

-  

to eliminate the tax sparing credit.
