The treaty between the United Kingdom and New Zealand is being updated to follow the new OECD standard on exchange of information between tax authorities, and to enable the request of assistance in the collection of all taxes.
The updating is of particular benefit to the New Zealand Inland Revenue Department to prevent tax evasion, and to improve revenue collection with respect to the large number of New Zealanders who live in the United Kingdom.
