According to recent reports, the protocol to the 1981 income and capital tax treaty between Italy and Luxembourg entered into force 25 October 2014. The protocol, signed 21 June 2012, updates the treaty to bring it in line with the OECD standard for information exchange. Accompanying notes that establish procedures for requesting information entered into force the same date.
The protocol applies retroactively for taxable periods beginning on or after 1 January 2012.
