On 23 March 2012, the amending protocol on exchange of information, signed on 3 November 2011, to the Barbados - Finland Income Tax Treaty (1989), entered into force. The protocol generally applies from 23 March 2012. The entry into force date with regard to the Åland Islands (self-governing area of Finland) is 12 July 2013.
The announcement on the entry into force was made by way of Decree 550/2013 of 4 July 2013, published by the Finnish tax authorities.
