The government is preparing a Decree to reduce domestic income tax withholding rates, as the overall income withholding rate was increased with the introduction of the new CREE (impuesto sobre la renta para la equidad) withholdings since May 2013.
Currently, domestic income tax withholdings are applicable at a rate that ranges from 1 to 11% over the gross amount of the payment depending of the type of income.
