The Romanian Senate is reportedly considering legislation that would reduce the standard 19% VAT rate to 16% and reduce the reduced 9% VAT rate to 5%. The rate cuts are intended to be made from 1 January 2020. In addition, certain split-payment mechanisms are to be implemented as well.
