Romania Maintains VAT Registration Threshold

According to a recent release from Romania's Ministry of Public Finance, although an increase in Romania's value added tax (VAT) registration to the EUR 88,500 (RON 300,000 as on date of accession to EU) was approved by the EU Council from 1 January 2018 ({News-2017-10-19/A/2-previous coverage}), the legislative process for the increase has not yet been completed. As such, the current VAT registration threshold will remain EUR 65,000 (RON 220,000) until further notice.
