The Romanian Senate is considering a draft law that would extend the scope of the reduced VAT rate of 5% to auto fuels, including petrol (gasoline), liquefied petroleum gas, and diesel. As drafted, the reduced VAT rate for fuels would apply from 1 April 2022.
