Russia Exempts Certain Imports for R&D from VAT

On 4 June 2014, a new Russian law was signed that provides VAT exemption for consumable materials for R&D, scientific, and experimental activities carried on in Russia, and whose term of useful life exceeds one year. The VAT exemption will apply one month after the law is officially published, but no earlier than the first day of following VAT period.
