The Russian government reportedly approved a draft law on 14 June 2018 that will increase the standard value added (VAT) rate from 18% to 20%. The 10% reduced VAT rate and the supplies to which the reduced rate applies would be maintained. Subject to approval in parliament, the increase in the standard rate is to apply from 1 January 2019.
