Russia to Lower Threshold for Low Value Consignment Relief

The Russian Ministry of Finance has published a draft regulation to lower the threshold for low value consignment relief from EUR 1,000 to EUR 500, effective 1 July 2018, and to EUR 200, effective 1 January 2019. The threshold applies in relation to the value added tax and customs duties exemption for imported low value goods and is being reduced primarily as a result of fraud.
