On 28 June 2022, the Russian State Duma (lower house of parliament) approved the ratification of the pending social security agreement with Tajikistan. The agreement signed, 15 September 2021, is the first of its kind between the two countries and will enter into force 30 days after the ratification instruments are exchanged.
