Rwanda has increased the pension contributions rate from 6% to 12% of gross salary with effect from 1 January 2025. Half the contribution (6%) is payable by employees and half is payable by employers. Further, the total rate will be increased to 14% from 1 January 2027, 16% from 1 January 2028, 18% from 1 January 2029, and 20% from 1 January 2030.
