The Azerbaijan-Bulgaria social security agreement (SSA) entered into force and applies from 4 May 2020, according to a release published 22 May by the Bulgarian National Social Security Institute. The SSA, signed 6 November 2019, is the first agreement of its kind between the two countries. The SSA covers retirement pensions, survivor pensions, and benefits for disability caused by illness.
