On 7 October 2024, the Turkish Social Security Institution issued a release announcing that officials from Greece and Turkey held the first round of negotiations for a social security agreement from 24 to 27 September 2024. Any resulting agreement will be the first of its kind between the two countries and must be finalized, signed, and ratified before entering into force.
