Officials from Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan met from 12 to 13 August 2025 to hold negotiations for a social security agreement, with the two sides reaching preliminary agreement on the text. Any resulting agreement will be the first of its kind between the two countries and must be finalized, signed, and ratified before entering into force.
