On 21 November 2014, officials from Macedonia and the Slovak Republic signed a social security agreement (SSA). The agreement must be ratified before entering into force, and once in force and effective will replace the 1957 SSA between the former Czechoslovakia and the former Yugoslavia, which currently applies in relations between Macedonia and the Slovak Republic.
