Officials from Portugal and Timor-Leste (East Timor) have reportedly begun negotiations for a social security agreement, with the first round of negotiations held at the end of January 2022. Any resulting agreement will be the first of its kind between the two countries and must be finalized, signed, and ratified before entering into force.
