The social security agreement between Russia and Tajikistan entered into force on 21 October 2022. The agreement, signed 15 September 2021, is the first of its kind directly between the two countries and generally applies from the date of its entry into force, replacing the 1992 Commonwealth of Independent States Pension Agreement as it applied in relations between Russia and Tajikistan.
