On 29 January 2019, the Saudi Cabinet reportedly approved the pending income tax treaty with Georgia. The treaty, signed 14 March 2018 ({News-2018-05-23/T/4-previous coverage}), is the first of its kind between the two jurisdictions and will enter into force on the first day of the second month following the exchange of the ratification instruments and will apply from 1 January of the year following its entry into force.
