The Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore has published Advance Ruling Summary No. 7/2026, concerning income tax issues in relation to the amalgamation of companies. In particular, it explains that unabsorbed capital allowances and losses of a company (the amalgamating company) amalgamated into another company (the amalgamated company) may be deducted against the income of the amalgamated company if the income arises from the same trade or business as the amalgamating company.
