On 8 October 2021, Slovenia published the law for the ratification of the new income and capital tax treaty with Sweden. The treaty will enter into force 30 days after the ratification instruments are exchanged and will generally apply from 1 January of the year following its entry into force. Once in force and effective, the treaty will replace the 1980 tax treaty between Sweden and the former Yugoslavia as it applies with respect to Slovenia and Sweden.
