South Korea COVID-19 Measures Include Tax Reduction for Most Impacted Areas, Possible Filing and Payment Extensions, and Others

South Korea has reportedly implemented a number of measures in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, which includes the following:

  • Tax relief is provided for companies located in special disaster areas, which includes Daegu, Gyeongsan, Bonghwa, and Cheongdo, including a reduction in corporate tax of up to 60% for affected small companies and up to 30% for affected medium companies, subject to a cap of KRW 200 million in total tax reduction;
