Spain has published Law 6/2018 of 3 July 2018 on the General State Budget for 2018 in the Official Gazette. One of the main tax-related measures of the Budget Law is the amendment of the patent box regime to bring it further in line with the modified nexus approach developed under BEPS Action 5. The regime was amended to bring it mostly in line with BEPS Action 5 approach as part of the 2016 Budget Law.
