On 2 June 2020, the Spanish Council of Ministers approved for ratification the pending income tax treaty with China. The treaty, signed 28 November 2018, will enter into force three months after the ratification instruments are exchanged and will generally apply from the date of its entry into force. Once in force and effective, the new treaty will replace the 1990 tax treaty between the two countries.
