On 9 February 2021, the Spanish Council of Ministers approved for ratification the pending income tax treaty with Ukraine. The treaty, signed 10 September 2020, will enter into force after the ratification instruments are exchanged and, once in force and effective, will replace the 1985 tax treaty between Spain and the former Soviet Union as it applies in respect of Spain and Ukraine.
