According to a press briefing on Cabinet decisions taken on 7 July 2025, Sri Lanka's Cabinet has reapproved the signing of an income tax treaty with Austria. The signing was previously approved by the Cabinet in September 2024 but needed to be approved again as a result of changes in the Cabinet and the Parliament of Sri Lanka. The treaty will be the first of its kind between the two countries and must be signed and ratified before entering into force.
