On 2 July 2025, the Parliament of Sri Lanka approved the pending protocol to the 2013 income tax treaty with India, which updates the treaty in line with OECD BEPS standards. The protocol, signed 16 December 2024, is the first to amend the treaty and will enter into force after the ratification instruments are exchanged.
