On 2 December 2020, the Swedish parliament approved the government law proposal for an extension of the tax relief provided for foreign experts, researchers, and other key people coming to work in Sweden so that the relief is provided for five years instead of the current three years. The law proposal enters into force on 1 January 2021 but applies to stays in Sweden that begin after 31 May 2020.
