Swiss Voters Reject Repeal of Issuance Stamp Tax on Equity Contributions

On 13 February 2022, the Swiss electorate voted to reject a proposal that would have abolished the issuance stamp tax (duty) on equity contributions to Swiss companies. Abolishing the 1% tax on equity contributions exceeding CHF 1 million had been proposed in order to support greater equity funding in Switzerland as opposed to debt.
