According to an update from the Azerbaijan Ministry of Taxation, the income and property tax treaty with Turkmenistan entered into force on 12 March 2019. The treaty, signed 22 November 2018, is the first of its kind between the two countries.

The treaty covers Azerbaijan income tax on legal entities, income tax on natural persons, property tax, and land tax. It covers Turkmen income tax on legal entities, income tax on natural persons, and property tax.
