From 19 to 22 August 2014, officials from Belarus and Ecuador held the first round of negotiations for an income tax treaty. It will be the first of its kind between the two countries. According to reports, the parties have generally agreed on all principal provisions of the treaty, and are now finalizing any remaining issues.
Once finalized, the treaty will need to be signed and ratified before entering into force.
