According to a release published by Egypt's State Information Service, officials from Egypt and Qatar signed a memorandum of understanding on 21 June 2022 that paves the way for the negotiation and conclusion of an income tax treaty. Any resulting treaty would be the first of its kind between the two countries and must be finalized, signed, and ratified before entering into force
